Multimedia composer Xiao Fu is researching the many facets of motion tracking, mapping and generative processes in experimental dance performance. She delves into the development of motion and gesture recognition, mapping and generative processes from a historical and phenomenological perspective and shows the interdependencies governing the growth of these technologies. And being an artist first and foremost, she gives us masterful examples through her own works as to how these technological advancements can creatively and meaningfully be combined to produce a XXI century multimedia dance performances. Her latest project “enactment::interchange” was successfully premiered in December 2017 in Hamburg and had already garnered a plethora of praises.
